Last weekend, our scouts went to Camp Comer to work on the camping and climbing merit badges! In the morning, the scouts did several climbs and rappels of the camp’s 38′ climbing tower. They also learned new knots, as well as how to belay and back-up belay. After lunch, the scouts wrapped up their requirements and learned to use an ascender to get up the tower. For the rest of the afternoon, the scouts took a short trip to DeSoto State Park before wrapping up the evening with a great meal and a beautiful fire. What a fantastic weekend and a gorgeous campground!
